Drilling it in

One of my favourite parts of ‘This Is It’ and one of the best and lasting memories Michael left us (and something that I would have died to see live) was ‘The Drill’. Looking round the net I see that loads of people have perfomed it but I would love to make the definitive ‘Drill’ video.

So here’s the pitch. I would love to hear from people who would be willing to submit a video of themselves performing the drill so we could collate them and make an everlasting tribute to MJ. If you are interested please either comment on this post or contact us. If we get enough interest then we will let all interested parties know what to do next.

TII to be released in 3D?

I know that 3D movies are all the rage these days. I haven’t been to see any of them yet but now my interest is growing. There have been rumblings on MJ forums that there may be 3D release of This Is It on the cards and on 19th August the British Board of Film Classification listed a movie as Michael Jackson’s This Is It [3D]. If this is true it would be amazing. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Man in the Mirror

Last week I had the privilege of seeing Man in the Mirror – The Michael Jackson Show at the Theatre Royal in Norwich and I have to say it was an absolute triumph. I’ve seen other MJ shows such as Thriller Live in the West End so it had a lot to live up to but man did it deliver. The shows premise is simple, a celebration of the music of the King of Pop. We were treated to all the hits sung by an amazing and talented cast.

And of course there was dancing, lots of dancing, a spectacle for the eyes. They performed all the classic routines but what set it apart from other shows was the little modifications they added to make it current (you have to see their version of Thriller) which I really enjoyed. But the best bit of the show is the audience participation. By the end everyone was on their feet and their was a total party atmosphere and one of the best nights I’ve had out in ages. I recommend this show to everyone.

I was even lucky enough to meet some of the cast after the show. I bumped into (OK, I grabbed) the super talented Ronnie Sumrall who was as far as we were concerned was the star of the show so I hope I didn’t traumatise him too much. It was a perfect end to a perfect night and all MJ fans should flock to this show if they get the chance.
